 Ian Byrne (Shaper): Ian Byrne is renowned for his love of large waves and
his expertise in the shaping bay. An ex New Zealand champion, he has an
ongoing connection to Oahu¹s North Shore, a place where he tests his surfing
and hones his experience for shaping.
Ian has been with Mt Woodgee for 23 years and his thousands of boards are
acclaimed in Australia and internationally as being amongst the fastest and
most maneuverable in the world.
A host of the world's best professional surfers seek out Ian's advice and interpretive experience to tune their touring quivers. Many surfboards on the ASP World Tour carry Ian's trademark shaping and design expertise, if not the famous Mt Woodgee logo.
