Where is Mt Woodgee heading?
The fundamental item – the surfboard – will continue to underpin our credibility into the future. We at Mt Woodgee understand that a surfer 'has a relationship’ with their surfboard rather than ‘owning it like an object’. We are determined not to participate in the ‘sales-pitch’ being directed at surfers in favour of mass produced surfboards that are easy and cheap to make; but are counter to individual expression – the very core of surfing culture.
Mt Woodgee will continue to ensure that surfers need not be ‘conned’. Genuinely master handcrafted surfboards, with unique bottom curves, made from the best materials, and finished by the world’s best surfboard craftsmen; will always be available to anyone in the world from Mt Woodgee. “Individual Surfboards for Individual Surfers”
So, so much more than ‘just a brand’, the potential in the name ‘Mt Woodgee’ and it’s reputation is enormous. Certainly, there will be ever- increasing distribution, both in Australia and overseas to 'share the joy’. Clothing sales continue to grow exponentially. It’s a future based on tradition and a genuine deeply felt understanding of what it to surf and to be a surfer.
Mt Woodgee is not a marketing invention. It is a place. It represents a way of life. Mt Woodgee customers are not units of income, they are fellow surfers. Or at least potential surfers.
